If not a true believer at heart then I can see the argument that this was the one shot at a life being denied. so does this mean they are ones of little faith deep down?

Here it comes folks, the Christian Madrassas.

Supreme Court weighs mandating public funds for religious schools in Maine

Would be interesting how this gets ruled though I am betting it will slant to the religious.

If they mandate public funds for religious schools it ought to include all religious schools. Watch the evangelicals & Reich-Wingers go apeshit when the Muslims demand their fair share. Simultaneously the atheists will protest their tax dollars going towards something they don't believe in.

Can o' worms time.

In the case of abortion, it's no longer a victimless crime. How is it different than killing an adult while they're asleep?
I have no problem recognizing a legal abortion as not being murder and as not being the same as killing a sleeping person.

We do not have to like abortions being used for birth control. It has and will always be around as fact. Making it illegal will not make it go away. Just more dangerous.

It is easy to understand someone who will never face this decision personally to feel one way. My personal choice would be not to. But would never be faced with the decision. The decision to have a abortion is never a easy one is my feeling of those facing it.

The decision is one that needs to be left to those who are pregnant. All the concern for the unborn child seems to evaporate away once the child is born. For if not then there would be a generous family leave, daycare, medical coverage..... schooling....meals........ ect ..... for all of the children born. Not for just those who have money and status.

Just what is a person at the bottom in our society to do?

For some, "right-to-life" begins @ fertilization and ends at birth.

It is telling that drivers of the very arguments against abortions, are then to be so easily forgotten once alive.

For this tells me it is more about power over women then anything else. Not a child's welfare at all.

Power and money are the motives, certainly. You can leave 'over women' out of it, only a subset of evangelical and republican leaders are actually misogynistic. Their ability to have a social wedge issue that never goes away has been golden. They're going to miss it when when they don't have it any more, and the left does.

To imply that there is a total abandonment of the new born is not true. Even in the state of Florida there is aid. In almost every corner there is an ACCESS installation.

What is often overlooked is the need to service the conscience of people who have committed abortion.
