I guess I'll put this in the movies thread because it is on Netflix and because each episode is 90 minutes: Foyle's War. It is extremely well done - intelligent dialogue, understated acting, great landscapes, and interesting historical context. It is set in Hastings, England during WWII. Foyle is the Chief Inspector or Assistant Chief Superintendent - I don't understand all of the ranks in British Law enforcement. His character exudes no flash, just relentless intellect applied to evidence.

I'm in the seventh season, so the war had to end. Now it appears that Foyle, who is retiring from the police force will spend a couple of seasons in MI5. For anyone who likes British detective dramas, this it top notch.
