Wilco - Blue Sky
We like to stop by the Half-Price Book Store when we go to Lawrence. Besides Wilco, also picked up Frank Zappa - Cheap Thrills, Jeff Beck - There and Back, Desmond and Brubeck - Duets, and a 2 DVD set of the '07 Crossroads Guitar Festival.
Seeing the boys, good Italian food and new music. Makes for a nice Friday night.
Regards,
D-Ray

Man oh man - the best ten bucks I've spent in awhile. The '07 Crossroads Guitar Festival. The lineup:
Bill Murray
Eric Clapton
Sonny Landreth
John McLaughlin
Doyle Bramhill II*
Susan Tedsachi
Derek Trucks Band
Johnny Winter
Robert Randolph and the Family Band*
The Robert Cray Band
Jimmie Vaughn
Hubert Sumlin
BB King
Vince Gill
Albert Lee
Sheryl Crow
Willie Nelson
And that's just disc I. I can't wait to hear disc II
I had not heard Doyle Bramhill or Robert Randolph before, but just learning about them was worth the ten bucks. I'm going to have to find some more of their music.
Regards,
D-Ray

Robert Randolph was here in Bristol for last year's Rhythm & Roots Festival. Wowed the crowd.

Robert Randolph is most entertaining. Sonny Landreth is pretty hot too. My wife, a buddy and I are going to see Jimmie Vaughan in a couple of weeks at the newly renovated Howard Theater in DC (DC's version of NY's Apollo, and a place where lots of famous R&B musicians got their start).
I snagged a web offer and a discount coupon that allowed me to get three $35 tickets for a total of $33. Sweet.

I ended up running through most of the disc again, after calling my wife down to hear Vince Gill and Willie Nelson. She had drifted back upstairs until she heard Robert Randolph come on. That stopped her in her tracks. Gonna have to go shopping for some of his stuff.

D-Ray

If you like Robert Randolph, another group from the same genre (sacred steel) is the Campbell Brothers from Upstate NY. Very good.
