The only reason I'm posting this is because of all the debate going on about white cops shooting black folks and getting away with it.... After long investigations the cops are always judged to be justified in the killings.....

Here, after only 72 hours the cops were charged in this lads death.

Oh wait....the cops were black and the kid was white......

Now I get it...... black cops are expendable...they aren't allowed to fear for their lives and act on it...only white cops can do that.....

The cops' expression is not very inspiring. Okay, this might be a prejudice. But I think that the officials should improve the aptitude tests, so that cops cope more mindfully in stress situations.

Maybe this is a naive comment, but this is my opinion.

In most European countries, police are better educated, better trained and better paid than they are here. The result is much more competent and professional policing in Europe than here.

Being a cop is a very responsible duty. There is a lack on acknowledgement of this matter in the (American) society. I am convinced that the problem is a psychological issue.

It is but it's more than that. We neither admire nor respect police in this country so we end up with police who are neither admirable nor respectable.

There is also the fact that American police departments trace their origins back to the "slave patrols" of the early years of the country. These were nothing more than goon squads who chased down, brutalized and returned to servitude runaway slaves. Sometimes, as described in the film "Twelve Years A Slave", they rounded up free blacks as well.
