Theoretically you can't burn here, and I don't really like doing it, but....

I burned a bunch of sticks I had in an old burn barrel last night. Supposedly it's not legal here either, but everyone does it. Anyhow these sticks were really, really dry and the barrel was stuffed so it went up like a bonfire. A neighbor woman came to the fence and started bitching that she was gonna call the fire department. Until her husband came out of the garage and dismissively said, "Shut up and leave the man alone, Diane. Nice fire man. Mind if I hang out for a minute?" I burst out laughing and she stomped away in a huff.

Sometimes my redneck neighbors are really cool.

I don't know if Blues neighbors are "good neighbors".

My neighbors still burn their garbage rather than pay for garbage collection.

Very illegal and very unhealthy to both my 82 year old mom and my dad when he was alive struggling to breath.

My opinion is, once a law is passed it ought to be respected.

Burning garbage sure wouldn't be tolerated 'round here.

That said I don't want to live in a police state either. If say local idiots burned the flag, or hung a santa claus from a noose, we'd be very self policing.

Most of our towns are in the same boat. No pot to piss in, slashing services left and right. Then you have towns like Livonia, which you may remember was where the fest was. They decided last evening to give their school superintendent a 50.000.00, YES a 50K raise. http://www.detnews.com/article/20101...superintendent

What in the world is wrong with these politicians....

In Montgomery County, MD, the Superintendent Jerry D. Weast's base salary is $247,794, augmented by a $111,052 payment to a supplemental pension plan.

Admittedly, he does a fine job, but earns the highest salary in the county by a very wide margin. I guess it's better than a state university's football coach being the highest paid person on the state's payroll. This is quite common.
