What is special about Hungary in the way of blue print?
You can't see the big picture that this all began with Trump praising Orban who is an authoritarian figure like Erdogan? Or you believe Turkey to be a democracy? In fact Trump said "like me" when referring to Orban.

So do you admire Trump?

wow!
Trump to Orban, Trump to Erdogan, Turkey a democracy? To admiring Trump?

No I do not admire Trump. I believe he is utterly erratic; he should not be anywhere near the nuclear button.

He was smart enough to ride certain key issues which were neglected by the main stream, such as..selling out to China and its devastating effect on blue collar workers, especially whites ones who thought that they were special; chaos at the southern border.

The US is set and organized totally different from Hungary and Turkey.
The US has multiple layers of protection.

So often the intricacy of the system tied up Trump.

Had Donny been re-elected, he would have made certain that those not “loyal” enough would be replaced. The Repubes, you will remember, did absolutely nothing to stop him, including two impeachments. You are living in a fantasy world.

Orban did exactly what Fucker and other alt-right nut jobs are salivating to do here.

You're damn right we pay attention to Carlson. A whole swath of America pays attention to him and take what he says as gospel. His words have power among them. A niche player? If White supremacists are a niche then I guess so. As long as he's allowed air he needs to be monitored.

Speaking of Fucker Carlson, anybody want to tell me the difference between him and someone standing up in a theater and shouting fire? Fear mongering, race baiting and misinformation are his stock in trade under a banner of free speech. The people who follow him? F*k 'em, let 'em go pound sand. Go get your hate/fear fix somewhere else. Let's not leave out Faux News. Hate, propaganda and misinformation for profit.
Rant over

You are correct, US is different from Hungary and Turkey.
Here Trump has raised over $125M claiming voter fraud of which no proof has been offered nor discovered. Erdogan can simply help himself from their treasury and stay in office indefinitely, which Trump envied. Orban has been evolving from a PM to a dictator since 2010 and remains to be seen if he gets displaced next year but I very much doubt it. This may explain the admiration that the Trumpers have for Orban.

Quote:
Still, over the past decade, Orbán has become something of a hero to conservatives throughout Europe, and has piqued the interest of the American right wing as well. Last week, Tucker Carlson visited Hungary and, over dinner, lauded the Prime Minister as someone that the West could learn from. On Sunday, in the Times, the conservative columnist Ross Douthat explained some of Orbán’s appeal. “It’s not just his anti-immigration stance or his moral traditionalism,” Douthat wrote. “It’s that his interventions in Hungarian cultural life, the attacks on liberal academic centers and the spending on conservative ideological projects, are seen as examples of how political power might curb progressivism’s influence.
Sounds like a one party system in the making to me. Hungary is an EU member, so Orban has to play by their rules publicly, but he is a mini Putin in the making.

If the Republicans had not lost control of the House in 2018, wonder where we would be today. Remember the GOP Senate refused to honestly impeach Trump twice, not even for organizing an insurrection.

With a different Supreme Court we might get misinformation and hate speech nudged out from under the first amendment. With the current set no way.

How about we (Biden) add a couple of justices to help get that done?

Sounds like a plan to me, but I doubt that Biden is up for it.
