The 91 300ZX remains a good looking car.
It also labels you as one of the umm...unfortunately endowed ones.....

For the price and in their respective classes, nothing coming out of Germany compares with the Mazda3, Mazda6 and MX-5 (Miata) in terms of driving dynamics and reliability.
In 2011, when I was forced to replace the M Roadster, the GTI blew away the Mazda3 and Miata.

The GTI isn't comparable to the Miata - a gussied up (and good) econobox vs a roadster. As for the Mazda3, compare the GTI to a Mazda Speed3, a Subaru WRX or BRZ.

Of course it is. I drove both, and a few others, when determining what car to buy in 2011.

No matter how hard you squint, the GTI isn't a roadster. BTW, the newly updated Miata is greatly improved and getting extraordinary reviews from every auto writer out there. Both it and the GTI are on pretty much every publication's Top 10. They're both very good cars, but they aren't comparable. The BMW Z3 is comparable, but no longer made and was considerably more expensive (and certainly not as reliable as the Miata, FWIW).

Who said the GTI is a roadster?

FWIW, you sound like a car magazine.

You said they were comparable. In my mind, a hatchback and a roadster are two completely different animals. One of the few cars on the road today truly comparable to the new MX-5 Miata is the Fiat 124 Spider Abarth (and it's actually a Mazda MX-5 with some different sheet metal and a different badge). And yes, I'm somewhat of a car geek.

If you want to see a real thing of beauty and innovation, read up on the new MX-5 RF convertible hardtop. People are chomping at the bit to get a chance to buy one of these. It may make you want to trade in your Rabbit.

I said I compared them in 2011, you countered with they aren't comparable and then I pointed out once again that I had indeed compared them. In my mind they were among the potential replacements for the rental car insurance was temporarily funding.

I've test driven the current Miata soft top.
