Getting ready to build a couple fences. Just living life.

Want to put a 4' wood fence and some mulch behind the lawn. Should be a nice view from the back yard then.

Noticed you have cages around the bushes?

Deer and other critters will eat them, I expect.

The idea that gun owners can or should play a positive role by threatening insurrection is too spurious to need serious refutation. The Atlantic article you also cited in your previous post does a pretty good job though.

A gaggle of civilians cannot stand up to actual troops, even if they have military rifles. This is mainly because they are not trained and organized to fight as a unit. Real troops will almost always slice them up in a standing fight. Even the writer in the piece you cite isn't silly enough to to suggest armed civilians can topple the government in a real scenario. He posits a mutiny by military units. Which is a thing to worry about, BTW....

I find the notion frightening, but it appears now a tenet of the NRA and has support from them and white nationalists.

Even the idea the framers seem to have actually put in the Constitution--the no standing army, militia for defense notion--was never any good. The militia did no good in the war of 1812, and in general did no good, or definite harm, at other times. Framers weren't always right.

I sometimes think seeing an attempt at an armed insurrection would be amusing. OTOH, if they became frequent I would imagine the annihilations could gain some mass public sympathy.
