I did the AV thing for a while before returning to stereo.

After playing with the various settings I ended up on 5.1 discrete.

I'm back to 2.0 (my tv/bluray is a source in my main stereo, I use it for movies too). I think 2.0 is best for 2.0 output music. But for movies I don't think you can replace the rear speakers as a point source and subs for explosions.

Not me...however, at my bro-in-law's place I swear I could feel the explosions in my liver which was a sort of interesting sensation.

I found an interesting VCR/DVD recorder combo for $21.60....it is a JVC DR-MV80. I was thinking of getting a VCR just so I could watch some of the interesting mini-series and documentaries I was seeing on the shelf at Savers. This one has Super Multi DVD burner and of course a VHS player. It has DIVX capability plus Composite Outs and HDMI out. No coaxial input/output but DVRs make that sort of obsolete. I just want playback so if the burner does not work I won't be too upset. The HDMI will not give me high def but should make hook up for playback easier. It was made in 2010.

I found an Acer Aspire x1700 desktop with the keyboard and wireless adapter today for $32.50.
It is a little buggy with Linux Mint but it could be the NVIDIA graphics chip having trouble with the distro.
It is nice shape with 320 gig hard drive and 3 gigs of DDR2. HDMi out also. It is really small like an office machine.

I've never felt the need for a sub with the Totem Mani-2's.

OK, I'm excited. I had a pair of Infinity RS-325 that I let get away. They were one of my favorite speakers. Well, I just won a bid for a pair for $39.99.

[IMG][/IMG]

They need to be refoamed, but the seller is including the surrounds. I had seen them priced as high as $300 (which was way over-priced). I got them for a bit under market, but that just makes it better. Now if I could just sell my Infinity Reference Fours.

Regards,

D-Ray

Sounds like a nice bookshelf speaker from what I've read over at AK Don.
