Are you so sure about that? They have temp agencies for skilled labor now too, you know.

That said, the IRS hates independent contractors, they're harder to control. I doubt the feds really prefer contractors.

As far as temp help, it's partly the huge amount of regulation that drives using temps at least as looking for new hires goes. There's also a bit of 'they do the looking' etc.

Say what? The IRS has no problem cashing my quarterly checks and I'm not getting audited. Heck, Mom was a temp employee of the IRS in Fresno for years.
As to the ACA, that's a funny interpretation. You been listening Rushbo over the weekend, bro?

Seems like every time I turn around I'm hearing about the IRS 'cracking down' on independent contractors. Perhaps it's different in the trades, or where they've been traditional.

Are they cracking down on the employer who turns employees into independent contractors, or on the employees who have been exploited in that way?

Regards,

Perhaps that's it D, but I have a hard time believing the IRS is our friend

Dave I'm sure you know your machines pretty well. I'd bet very well (yep!). Could a machine mechanic come anywhere close to your repair time and skill on them? That's what I mean. My strength is product and logistic knowledge. And a sunny disposition lol.

I've seen an assembly line run on temps up close. Toasters, waffle irons etc. I wouldn't even buy a toaster from there! Could you imagine something more complicated?

Pete

True dat but I couldn't resist a dig at the crazies who're betting against America and hyperventilating about the imminent collapse of the dollar. I guess it's fairly sad that some folks go from being worried about the economy to actively cheering for it's collapse, while posting up all sorts of snide shit at people who love and serve this country.

Oh well, it isn't anything new. I've seen their type freaking out about the United Nations for decades. I guess the crazy John Birchers actually took the time to procreate after they were finished digging those bomb shelters in their back yards...effin' barking idjits.

I'm about ready to give it all up. The downhill momentum of the middle class is almost out of control.
