I am all for forgiveness but I think there has to be consequences too.

The priest may forgive your sins, but he also makes you do Penance.

Penance may well be appropriate. Mr. Franken has seemed sincerely penitent from the beginning, but on the other hand he disputes some of the charges. Should all charges from anonymous witnesses always be treated as 'proven?'

Again, I remind everyone that Project Veritas might have regarded Franken as a big fat target.

I believe Franken resigned because he did not want to become a spectacle nor a punching bag for the ever hypocritical Republicans.

Wouldn't doubt it.

Agree!

Just my attempt of trying to point out the hypocrisy and pretentiousness out of those claiming to be the party of Godliness .

Right.... some accusations could be false. That is true. But when numbers of women come forward, women who have no connection to each other, there is bound to be some truth in their stories somewhere. (maybe criminal, maybe not)
Due process would sort all that out.
But.... since the allegations are in the past, some decades old, it is unlikely any of these accusations will end up in court.

There are also changing values. While watching "It's a Wonderful life", the seasonal classic, I was stunned at the examples of sexual harassment. At the time it was considered just playful fun or not taken seriously.

This is before we became an asshole society.

Everyone should get a copy of the TIME magazine issue - December 18, 2017 - Person Of The Year.

A great issue. This one I will keep in my library.
