Remember it well, lived in the DC area at the time. Takoma Park, Md. Funny how after all these years the evidence was found that Nixon screwed over the Paris peace talks to get elected.

Nixon, a least he had some dignity deep down. This crowd is just scary crazy fools. Take us all down just to prove they can!

Its my belief that if Nixon, with the economic momentum of the Mil/Ind machine, fueled by the blood in SE Asia, and the nascent Religious Right up in arms about long hair and burning bras - if all that couldn't do permanent damage to our America - then this bunch of rich amateurs feeding on half-baked hatred and short-term greed do not represent anything more than a very temporary small setback to good people who are doing good work building democracy.

Your retort is analogous to a baseball fan, who upon finding out that league investigators have concluded that his team took PED's, used corked bats and threw spitballs to help win the World Series, responds "Yeh, but they didn't hack the electronic scoreboard!"
No, it's not. The only way one can truly "manipulate and election" is to mess with the votes.

The lefty rant that "fake news" was responsible for "manipulating the election" as simply leftist sycophantic, fantastical drivel. You said it yourself - the impact cannot be determined exactly. In fact, it can't be determined at all, according to Comey. Your, and the rest of your lemming friends on the left - conclusion that Trump "got a push across the line" is pure fantasy, particularly in light of your admission that the impact cannot be determined.

Your claim that "fake news" influenced the election results is analogous to a steaming pile of crap.

Hmmm. So, the Republicans wasted their time with all that gerrymandering, then, Eh? All those voter suppression laws were just for Fun? Having the Russians trolls infiltrate every political thread on the Web was innocent? Stealing and disseminating Democrats' emails was innocuous? Should I go on?

Hey Whell,
I agree with the statement, although I think I might disagree with the implied scope. Would funding from Russian government for a candidate also be manipulating votes? It has been said that the person who spends the most is the winner of the election. Obviously this is a very loose and open statement, but it is for illustrative purposes.
Thoughts?

Tell that to Comey. There are multiple reports that the FBI is investigating Breitbart and InfoWars for deliberately providing a platform for Russian (fake) newsbots. Moreover, last Monday Comey during his Congressional testimony specifically mentioned fake news as being within the scope of the ongoing investigation .

I heard that. I certainly hope that the FBI chooses to "investigate" news outlets, and that the left cheers them on. It would certainly demonstrate how much the left hates the First Amendment...at least the press that they can't control.
