I'm moving into an apartment and so need to replace my AR-9s with bookshelves so I don't start drinking and get thrown out.

Any recs for inexpensive but nice (aka good value) ones? I'll probably end up with a low power tube amp too.

Pete

I have some DCM TF400s that sound magical with a Magnavox amp 175. The TimeFrames are floorstanders with a pointsource set up that can't be beat for the money and they fly under the radar pricewise usually.

Thanks Bob. I've heard floorstanding Timeframes on sand, can't remember the model # that sounded really nice.

But I'm concerned over spl and bass level ability. Oldish apartment

My one bud has an old Maggie amp he'll give me cheap, don't know the model # though.

Pete

I got those horns, lenses and the crossovers. I also have these pro dinosaurs, these lens are about 3ft wide, 2440 drivers, crossovers and horns. They (horns) are the same as Paragon ones. Swanson Sound in Oakland is still in biz last I looked. This pic is about 15 years old.

If the Maggie hasn't been fixed up, we'uns can help ya thru it. I hope it's a 93xx amp, those are the cat's meow for a stereo amp from Magnavox.

BTW, you have more than one bud, Pete.
