German Election 9/26/2021

I voted for "Die Linke" which got 6% in the latest polls. Horrible: the Nazis from the "AfD" got 11 % in the latest polls.

I hope that Olaf Scholz will be the next Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. He does not look sexy. But he is a very competent politician.

Chris, Armin Laschet looked to be Angela Merkel's pick.
The last I saw reported yesterday.

Yes, it is scary to even be considering the AfD for anything anywhere.

Hate and anger has overtaken the world it seems.

Trying to get along with others playing nice is so out of fashion now.

One has to start to wonder it climate change demising resources over population and inequities in distribution of wealth are the driving forces.

It has to work out for Germany and to a certain extent to the entire world as well.

Planet is transitioning to lifeboat rules.

It seems that Olaf Scholz' SPD made it. But it was very close.

SPD means Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschland. This party is left-conservative, but for a couple of decades the stress is rather on conservative than on left.

What about the so-called "Greens".

So-called? So what are they really, if not Greens?

It's amazing how far into the mainstream of German politics the Greens have come in the past 40 years. They were considered a joke when they first showed up in ~1980.
