Sometimes it's nice to have the clearly identified + and - cables, but I have found that a circuit tester and some red nail polish solves that problem too. And banana plugs on both ends also helps. Unless one is ADD, like this poster, and constantly shifts around components and speakers, the easy polarity identification is not that big a deal either.

D-Ray

I did the 500 miles of cat5 braiding too, I still use them. I biwire simply because I won some cables last AK fest (you guys ARE going, right??).

After I had a loose banana plug fry my old Marantz I switched to locking bananas.

One thing I noticed, I placed a little pebble on top of my amp. As I move it around it changes the sound!

Amazing. If anyone wants one let me know, I think I can reproduce them for $1,397.31 each.

Plus shipping and handling.

You'll have to do better than that.

It depends on what gauge you order.

!4g zip cord, although my Vandy 3s came with some heavy blue jean cables. Sheesh, probably cost more originally than what I paid for the speakers($425) including said cables.

I started braiding, but then just did a twist of the three Cat-5 cables. I was working with 20 foot runs and the braiding was taking too long; hence, simple twist, some heat shrink, and then the Tech-Flex. Poked a lot of holes in my fingers working with the ends. They look nice, sound fine, and were more or less free.

I really get a kick out of those wire risers that I've seen. Your pebble sounds like a plan; however, I much prefer my stone pyramid that sits on mine.

Everyone seems to be overlooking the most critical component in a dedicated audio system.

If you still have doubts about the effectiveness of your rekkerd player setup, you might contact the utility company and inquire about replacing your entrance cables with 4/0 silver litz braid, and ask about any contractors in your area who have experience at constructing a Faraday cage around a home.

You could be completely BS-ing here, and I wouldn't have a clue. I plug my stereo into a surge protector/ power strip. The lights come on and sound comes out. If I put on good source material, I generally like the sound that is coming out.

D-Ray

I learned my lesson. I still have those stiff cables on the McSystem, because they look cool. Everywhere else------18 gauge wire from Radio Shack.
