In all the ruckus, nobody seems to have noticed that Joe Manchin's influence is about a tenth of what it was this time yesterday.

Yeah, but he can still duck things up in the lame duck session.

With 51.38% of the vote Sen. Raphael Warnock wins the runoff election in Georgia and so ends the Great Republican Red Wave of 2022.

He can and will switch parties if pushed too hard to the left. 52 would have been better but this is as good as it was going to get in this cycle. Still cannot believe Ron Johnson got reelected in WI, must be the Kyle effect.

Yes, but that's not nearly the threat it was in the last couple of sessions. So the Democrats at least won't have to pander to him in order to get anything through the Senate. Unfortunately the house is a different kettle of fish.

What is really scary from these midterms is the last election, Warnock vs Walker.
Final tally was: Warnock 1,816,096 votes, Walker 1,719,483 votes.

Georgia is trending purple, yet 1.7Million people voted for a scumbag like Walker because they hate the Democrats. This level of extreme polarization will take a long time to resolve.

They heard about him and heard him speak and said to themselves, "Yeah, that guy would make a good senator!"

The Democrats maybe better served to look at the recent victories from the perspective of anti Trump anti crazy cult voters showing up. Not as support for the Democrats. When the old school Reps break away from the cult.
The results will be much different.
The Democrats desperately need to heed this and adjust the message to get them. With actions that help the majority of the country and let them know who did it.

A real long time, probably generations.
