Smart ass!!!

Seriously Finn, you've never seen anything that defied the accepted norms?

Psilocybin excluded?

I've seen 'em both, and I can differate between the two.

Reality is much more boring.

The only other-worldy stuff I've seen I understood (Volcanic features at Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, the Northern Lights, the Milky Way at 10,000' up in the Alps on a winter's night, the Great Rift Valley). No flying saucers yet.

No kidding?

I've seen them on three different occasions.

I thought that everyone had at least once.

BTW, I've never seen the Great Rift Valley, or the Milky Way from the Alps, but I have seen it from above Breckenridge CO more than once. Used to live there.

Ever spend the night in Cooke City, Montana while you were visiting the Yellowstone? 20 yrs ago, they used to have a seedy Holiday Inn with a glassed in indoor pool with an exceptional view of the Beartooth's?

You could swim in the pool until you got cold, then set in the hot tub until you warmed up, and slam dunk hiballs the whole time.

My wife and myself thought is was a real hoot!!!

But that was back when we were still young and beautiful and had the energy to drive for several thousand miles for fun.

We've run out of gas in the meantime.

I pulled into the Kroger parking lot in the Denbigh section of Newport News VA. As i exited my vehicle, I noticed a small group of people looking up at the sky. As I approached them I asked "What's going on?" A woman pointed up and said "Watch it, It's so strange." I looked at the Object. It appeared to be a silver ball, way up high. Couldn't really make out any details. I said, "Must be some kind of balloon." She replied, "No, watch." That's when I realized it was perfectly still. "Satellite?", I asked.
All of the sudden it moved to the right, miles to the right at a very rapid pace, and came to an abrupt stop. "Does a satellite do that?" a man asked. I'm thinking, "What the F**k?" Then it accelerated at an incredible rate straight up and out of sight. Another man with a somewhat frightened look on his face said, "I don't know what y'all saw, but I didn't see jack." He turned and walked away. I looked at the woman whom I spoke to first. She shrugged her shoulders, said, "Makes ya wonder, doesn't it?", then resumed putting groceries in her car.

I'll never forget it.

The Soviet Union was destroyed by unsustainable defense spending,
and a populace that had grown weary of the miserable condition forced
upon them by a government who cared about nothing but the expansion of empire.

And they did NOT win the space race, we did.

The woman is an ass.
