Globalization was taken place long before any of that. As a matter of fact globalization was forced on American and European capitalists because many of their products were becoming uncompetitve in the world at large versus especially those of the Japanese.
Where have all the good jobs gone from Japan? Flip over any modern electronics equipment; "Made in Taiwan, China, Indonesia......". The vast majority of cars they sell here now are.......Assembled here from parts made in a a lot of places other than Japan. Ever heard the term, "Lost Generation"?

The Japanese worker made the same mistake workers here and in Europe did; They actually expected to live on their wages. And, in this day and age, THAT will not be tolerated so long as cheaper labor sources can be found.

Okay...Thanks. But, we've already noticed.

What some fail to see is that capitalism is energetic and cannot be bottled. Globalization is a natural outflow of its energy. With tremendous improvement and reduction in the cost of transportation and communication, globalization is increasing and will be increasing at an increasing rate. Attendant with this is a massive transfer of social capital from first world to formerly third world areas. An balance it is good for the world. Lee K. Yew saw this coming and adjusted his society accordingly.

There is a huge middle class emmerging in East/South East Asian. An area also with a multiplicity of new formidable learning centers.
