That is about the stupidest thing I have ever read here in PC. Are you really that naive?

Well I guess that is a stupid question.

I never said what the GOP would propose would be better.

All I said was that this would put us on the road to Medicare for all.

The sooner the current system collapses, the sooner we will get there.

Those "boys" are going to be in for a rude awakening.

Trump is going to be in charge.

You're the one who thought Hillary was going to win in a landslide.

So whose stupid now?

How many decades do they need to "get it right"?

You think we're all stupid? They have no plan and they have no intention of implementing a plan. They intend on letting the medical industry rape and pillage with no concern for the losers who cannot afford health care. Health care is for the rich. It's the republican trickle up theory. all wealth must eventually be owned by the 1% and what better way to guarantee it than wiping out the wealth of our elderly and middle class through medical bills?.

That would require intelligence.......So, it isn't going to happen.

I'm thinking they'll delay until the great American attention span expires, then just quietly stroll away.

Then, why did they rush?

The Republicans had nothing to loose (which I pointed out in the following sentence of the 3/08/17 post you've taken out of context) and fulfilling campaign promises.

Because they wanted to pocket the $1 trillion savings from cutting health care coverage for 24 million people to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy in their upcoming tax reform effort. Now, they're going to have to look elsewhere for savings/revenue to pay for such tax cuts, including Ryan's border adjustment (import) tax.

Agreed, which is why the so called tax reform is stalled, and now they are looking for import tariffs which the Koch Bros. are sabotaging through their various activist groups. The Trump Wall is still in play though since his supporters are still clamoring for it.

Trump/Ryan team is beginning to look like the Chicago Bulls front office. Clueless and inept.

As dumb as when Arnold took so much away from the people depending on home assistance that they actually cost more by forcing them into rest homes on the states dime.
Quote:
Reporting from Sacramento — Proposing a budget that would eliminate the state's welfare-to-work program and most child care for the poor, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday outlined a stark vision of a California that would sharply limit aid to some of its poorest and neediest citizens.

His $83.4-billion plan would also freeze funding for local schools, further cut state workers' pay and take away 60% of state money for local mental health programs. State parks and higher education are among the few areas the governor's proposal would spare.

The proposal, which would not raise taxes, also relies on $3.4 billion in help from Washington — roughly half of what the governor sought earlier this year — to help close a budget gap now estimated at $19.1 billion. Billions more would be saved through accounting moves and fund shifts.

"California no longer has low-hanging fruits," said Schwarzenegger at an afternoon news conference in Sacramento. "I now have no choice but to … call for elimination of some very important programs."

Elimination of CalWorks, the state's main welfare program, would affect 1.3 million people, including about 1 million children. The program, which requires recipients to eventually have jobs, gives families an average $500 a month. Ending those payments would save the state $1.6 billion, the administration said. It would also make California the only
Penny wise, pound foolish. Anything to keep the wealthy from paying their fair share.
