Redistribution of wealth--From Blue to Red?

I live in one of the Reddest of Red States. Just got my Personal Property Tax bill (Car Tax) $710---Due in two weeks. I keep trying to tell people, OUR TAXES ARE REDICULOUS IN A RED STATE. And then I read this. Apparently, we not only tax ourselves like this, but we take YOUR money as well.

The hypocracy is astounding. And the refusal, of some, to face it is even more astounding.
