My first guess would be owned by local police/sheriff. They've made ex-army stuff available to cops. Or could even be a privatly-owned item. National Guard or Army unlikely just because there was just one. They usually go around in convoys, and don't run their tracked stuff on public roads. Guess I should ask--was it wheeled or tracked?

Four-wheeled, on rubber tires, about the size of a Jeep Wrangler, four person capacity. Significantly smaller than the ones used by big city SWAT teams to run criminals off the road.

I'm guessing it's the ATFE with FBI over-sight.

This may be my imagination, but my first thought was 'that's made in Israel'. Only place I've seen one before is on TV news; middle east.

I can easily imagine the Israelis seeking arms sales to us, as part of the back-and-forth of our extensive support and arms dealing with them. But doesn't seem important to me.

Ok, an armored ride, not what the army would call a combat vehicle, but resistant to small arms fire. There are a number of state and federal agencies that run around doing secret squirrel stuff.

Ran across this today. Article in New Yorker's Intelligencer (not paywalled for now) gives good analysis of Trump confounding a friendly interviewer's attemp to make him sound good. But this bit caught my eye:

H.H.: No jokes at all. Do you intend to rule as an authoritarian or a dictator?

D.T.: Not at all. No, I’m going to rule as somebody that’s very popular with the people. And the reason I have a 50-point or 60-point lead — I saw one today, I have a 60-point lead, but the reason is because I had four great years.

There's several points of stupid in that, but one word jumps out for me--that word 'rule.' Kings rule. Emperors rule. Presidents of democracies don't rule. But dictators do.

Why Worry?

In life, there are really only two things to worry about. Either you are well, or you are sick.

If you are well, there's nothing to worry about.

If you are sick, there are two things to worry about. Either you get better, or you die.

If you get better, there's nothing to worry about.

If you die, there are two things to worry about. Going to Heaven, or going to Hell.

If you go to Heaven, there's nothing to worry about.

If you go to Hell, you'll be so busy shaking hands with all your friends that you won't have time to worry…so why worry?

What always gets me about Religion and some. If they are truly believers then ones death should not fear. Yet if there is unsureness and doubt questioning causing fear that this is all there is. Then can see why they will be so anxious and upset.

I read a book that said despite Butler's excellence as a combat leader, the Marines don't talk about him much now. Guess he got too woke for them.
