And the Five Star Movement, the coalition's left, is populist.

The new Italian government has stood firm against the migration racket especially from 'fail state' Libya.

Libya is a jump off country for illegal migrants seeking to enter Europe.
Gaddafi use to prevent this, but he is no longer around.

Italy got most of these illegals and over time they were a burden since many other other European countries refused to take any significant portion of them and when they are deported from such countries they are sent back to Italy.

Recently the new Italian government refused to allow a ship laden with 600 refugees/migrants to dock anywhere in Italy.

The new govt is determined not to feed the hustlers in Libya, who take these people money and push them out into the sea knowing that in all likelihood they will be rescued and brought to Italy.

Despite criticism Italy stood firm saying it is answering to the voters, and it is time others share more of the burden.
