Unfortunately, your girl Sarah doesn't make it all that difficult. Please note that she didn't know which countries were in NAFTA (Canada, US, Mexico), didn't know that Africa was a continent (as opposed to a country), and didn't know who Maggie Thatcher was. Granted, she still may be more intelligent than those who support her, but that's damning her with faint praise indeed.

I'm not "failing" to do anything. I'm making a comment on Assange's behavior, which seems consistent with the anti-American sentiment with many of the European socialist types. Its also reflected in individuals who are member of some of those "institutions" you bring up. I spent 4 years at a state university, and I heard it on a regular basis from the faculty. It hasn't gotten any better since I've gone, from everything I've seen and read.

...and you didn't know what she was referring to when you commented on her quote. I guess you and she are even?

What astonishes me is that intelligent conservatives refuse to see this. I can only guess that at the moment, they see her as their only hope for regaining the Whitehouse.
Dudes, please step back and look at her objectively, and you will come to see that your party can do much better. The woman is a ditz. All show, all slogan, all "folksy charm", and little else. There is nothing there. Ask her a tough question and she accuses you of "attacking" her. No. We just want to know what her thoughts on important issues are. And she doesn't appear to have any, outside of parroting the party slogans.
Seriously,
Dave

Say what? I questioned her assertion that everybody is silent about Assange. Good grief. Nearly everyone with a set of vocal chords has spoken out against him.
As for a foreigner being anti-American: My guess is that he's one among hundreds of millions of foreigners with similar feelings - no crime there (a worldwide poll found that most people felt Dubya was the greatest threat to world peace, not bin Laden). BTW, how many Americans spew anti-Chinese, anti-French, anti-Hispanic and anti-Muslim rhetoric?

Not yet. Go ahead and tell me she isn't being "groomed", and I'll tell you to go get your t.v. fixed, and/or your hearing and eyesight checked. Tell me there aren't millions in this country who wouldn't run out and vote for her in a heartbeat, and I'll call you crazy.

Folks tend to turn a blind eye to the folks on "their team." Obama has gotten a free ride by his supporters, in spite of doing and saying some pretty dopey things. It appears, however, for the time being, due to the "tax deal", he's raised some serious ire on his side of the aisle.
However, I'd suggest Palin has gotten more than her fair share of criticism. She's thrust herself in the public eye, so she's fair game. But i suspect Obama's comment about traveling to all 58 states, or thousands of people being victims of a tornado in a town of 12, or accusing police of acting "stupidly", got far less mileage here.
