I enjoy sport shooting, particularly with my airguns, my firearms are generally not often used.

Some are calling for the "Australian Solution". I have no idea about how that would go over. If a large number (and I suspect it would be a large number) of guns were turned in, is there compensation? How is value determined? With a certain number of guns out of circulation, are the remaining ones more valuable? Etc, etc.

I'm all ears.

Face the facts, the guns are going nowhere soon.

They just need adult supervision. Simple solution. View them no longer as toys for boys.....

Likely true, and that's just not working.

I deplore the breach of civility. But JJ, you need to understand that repeating your magic words is infuriating to frustrated people who view dead children as tragically real, but believe the benefits of your esteemed right to be mostly imaginary.

The amendment is among other things contradictory, including both the 'not be infringed' part and the 'well-regulated' part. I wish the 2nd were not there; it's purpose was to be the militia-enabling amendment, but independent militias have a lousy record, and the framer's affections for them were not well-considered.

Your corporate overlords doubtless chuckle every time they think of how they've convinced the rubes to define 'freedom' as the ownership, at personal expense, of high-cost but dangerous consumer products. It's a triumph of consumer capitalism!

It would take enough of a majority in the House and the Senate and a sympathetic POTUS to get a Constitutional referendum to remove or modify the unconditional entitlement to as much of anything short of tactical nuclear weaponry as they can afford or steal. Prevention instead of thoughts and prayers by limiting supply and accountable access to sensible hardware in sensible quantity to responsible persons.

The whole school shooting scenario is a shithole situation.
