"Desperate people do desperate things", and the recent Hamas attack on Israel was an act of desperation. Obviously they had no hopes or dreams of conquering Israel, so then why?
They have now lost over 10,000 lives to Israel's 1,400 or so. Does this make sense? To them yes, whatever the merit of their logic is. They may consider this mission accomplished since the world is sympathizing with the Palestinians, not Israel. Israel will probably take more land from the palestinians as revenge and the cycle will continue.
If Bush II and Cheney were still in the WH, the US forces will be doing their shock and awe act on Teheran.
