It's because the Conservatives are achieving their goal to take us back to those glorious days of yore.

"The fog's just lifting. Throw off your bow line, throw off your stern. You head out to South channel, past Rocky Neck, Ten pound island. Past Niles Pond where I skated as a kid. Blow your airhorn and throw a wave to the lighthouse keeper's kid on Thatcher Island. Then the birds show up, black backs, herring gulls, big dump ducks and green legged coots. The sun hit ya , head North, open up to 12, steamin' now. The guys are busy, you're in charge. Ya know what? You're a goddamn swordboat captain! Is there any thing better in the world? We'll always wonder."

From the movie "The Perfect Storm".

Yesterday happened to be the anniversary of the first passage of the Butler Act, the Tennessee law that in 1925 forbade the teaching of evolution and lead to the Scopes trial.

Today happens to be Albert Einstein's birthday. The Tennessee fellows would have banned Albert Einstein too, if they'd thought of it....

Quote:
It is, in fact, nothing short of a miracle that the modern methods of instruction have not yet entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry.

Nationalism is an infantile sickness. It is the measles of the human race.

There exists a passion for comprehension, just as there exists a passion for music. That passion is rather common in children but gets lost in most people later on. Without this passion, there would be neither mathematics nor natural science.

To obtain an assured favorable response from people, it is better to offer them something for their stomachs instead of their brains.

Truly novel ideas emerge only in one's youth. Later on one becomes more experienced, famous — and foolish.

Fear or stupidity has always been the basis of most human actions.

All from Albert Einstein, 1879 - 1955

“I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”

Get used to having a woman POTUS for the next 4 > 8 years, bro.

Herr Drumpf, a failed casino operator, will be going back to Trump Towers in November to lick his wounds and tweet his heart out in his dotage.
