Is the U.S. economy in good or bad shape?
https://news.yahoo.com/is-the-us-eco...183112614.html

Quote:
The majority of Americans are better off financially now than they were before the pandemic. Full stop. Not every American, but the majority. That’s true across demographic and income groups." — Former Federal Reserve economist Claudia Sahm, Stay-at-Home Macro
Quote:
“The share of Americans who call their own finances good is now about twice as big as the share who call the economy good. … In other words, a growing number of people say their finances are fine, but the economy as a whole is bad. Who are those people? NORC found that 82% of Republicans who call their personal financial situation good view the economy poorly. Only 38% of Democrats with good personal finances say the same.” — David Lauter, Los Angeles Times
Because Repubes no longer get balanced news.

I guess NY Times readers don't either.

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/11/06/2024...advantage.html

The most striking result from the survey was not the outcome in any particular state, however. It was the whopping 81% of registered voters overall who said the condition of the U.S. economy was either “Fair” or “Poor,” compared with just 19% who said it was “Good” or “Excellent.”

Also:

In line with the NYT/Siena poll, 49% of NBC respondents favored Republicans to best handle economic issues, compared with 28% who said they trusted Democrats to do it.

In a telling move, independent voters in the poll gave Republicans a 25-point advantage when it came to handling the economy.

The poll also found that a majority of voters disapproved of Biden’s economic track record, 59% to 37%.

Or CNN?

The public’s views of the national economy remain lackluster, with more than 4 in 10 saying they’re seriously concerned rising costs could push them out of their own communities.

Roughly 4 in 10 Americans say the economy or the cost of living is the most important issue facing the country, far above the share who name any other issue, and few express optimism about where the economy is headed.

And...

A 71% majority of Americans rate economic conditions in the country as poor, with 38% calling them very poor. That marks an improvement from the summer of 2022, when 82% saw the economy as poor, but remains far worse than Americans’ pre-pandemic assessments of the economy.

71% of American's don't get "balanced news"? It would probably never occur to you that 71% of Americans might have opinions closer to the truth, and its YOUR news sources that lack balance.

Stupid person is stupid because he think we don't notice that he just quoted polls about popular opinion. The whole point is that popular opinion is out of synch with actual economic conditions. Especially with Republicans, because they don't get balanced reporting about actual economic conditions.

Yes. It's discouraging that he simply won't give up and give in to reason or facts, but trolls just don't do that, it seems. Sad.

When you feed them, they will squat under the nearest bridge picking at dingleberries and flicking boogers at anyone unfortunate to be passing by. First rule of internet forums.

Speaking of Poxy Noise
'Even Fox News is having trouble trashing Biden's economy' DKOS

"Once again, under President Joe Biden's stewardship, the U.S. economy is making a mockery of its critics. According to the latest jobs report, November brought:

Another strong month of job gains (199,000 created).

Labor force participation at 62.8% (highest since the pandemic began).

Unemployment below 4% for two years.

Wages growing faster than inflation.

And no one knows better than Fox News that if Donald Trump were presiding over an economy that solidly outperformed expectations for the better part of two years, he would be insufferably screaming it from the rafters in every venue available to him.

The fake news media promised a recession ...

They said this couldn't be done, but ...

No one will give me the credit I deserve, but ...

Fox News talking heads were so baffled by how to spin the jobs numbers into a drag on Biden that some positive coverage slipped through.

"We like 14 million jobs created—almost a million in manufacturing—economic growth at 5%, unemployment at historic lows, small business records being broken," said Fox News guest Jonathan Kott, former communications director for Sen. Joe Manchin, ticking through the positives. "So we do love talking about Bidenomics, we love talking about the components of it, and if you actually ask the voters, they love that stuff, they love the infrastructure bill when you actually talk to them about what's in the bill."

Yep, that about sums it up." K. Eleveld

People Can't Get Enough Of Watching Fox Business Host Begrudgingly Announce Latest Strong Jobs Report
https://secondnexus.com/bartiromo-fo...ss-jobs-report

Quote:
People couldn't get enough of a video of Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo and her panel of experts announcing another strong jobs report after the new ADP jobs numbers showcased a stronger labor market performance in November than initially projected.

And even Fox Business couldn't spin this, forcing Bartiromo to break from the network's typical critical coverage of the Biden administration:

"We've got to look at this report as a big positive. More jobs have been created than expected. ... [turning to one of her experts] ... You've been saying this for a long time, saying that the economy is a lot stronger thn anyone understands."
ROFL. Must have been horrible for them, lol.
