That's absolutely ridiculous. Bernie was torpedoed. You enthusiastically backed one of the worst imaginable candidates for the DNC nomination, so don't try to claim you did nothing wrong. Tom is right on this one: you own this.

I think the DNC underestimated the effectiveness of the long term Republican hatchet job on Hillz, they had already taken some whacks at Liz Warren. How Bernie would have fared is hard to say, but I dunno if he would have prevailed against Trumpkins and the Republican buzzsaw.

A hatchet job which it should have been seen as being right in Trump's wheelhouse to exploit, seeing that he used the identical tactics on his primary opponents.

So, we're supposed to pick our candidates based on what slime is thrown at them by the alt-right?

Yeah, Saint Bernie was torpedoed...by four million actual Democratic voters.

That makes sense when it identifies the opposition.
Unfortunately, it worked exactly backwards here rewarding the despicables.

I think there's plenty of blame to go around for the low turnout on the (D) side. Don Quixote posted up an eye opening tally of the battleground states.

Millions of Bernies supporters were locked out of the process. One thing the Democrats could do, and I'm not saying that would be enough, but it would help, would be to open up all of their primaries and caucuses to independents.

These are your swing voters that determine who wins in the fall.

But instead the Democrats slammed the door in these people's faces in the spring and then turned around and expected them to turn out for them in the fall.

Anyone with a tagline of "trump uber alles" isn't worth the keystrokes.
