Look at us compared to all the other First World industrialed democracies (western Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand). We have gun ownership rates at least 3 times higher than any other modern industrialized democracy, yet far higher murder rates (about 3 times, coincidentally (or not)).

Okay, so we rate 10th, behind such wonderful places as crime ridden South America and Africa. Point is, virtually every country with a better record has tighter gun controls.

This SHOULD be a point of national shame. But, we have a powerful lobby of assholes who crow about it as if it's a patriotic badge of honor to have such shitty statistics.

Now, do you understand why I hate them?

My guess is "no". You're still going to argue and rant.

Regards,
Dave

If this example is even genuine, your statement is way off.

Look at the 3rd graphic I posted. Comparable industrialized democracies (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, France ....) have gun ownership rates 3 times less than ours and murder rates also about 3 times less than ours. Admittedly, this doesn't prove a causal relationship, but it is food for thought should you wish to think.

10th? I demand a recount. Try again.

Slightly over the mean even though we own a LOT more. That should be a source of national pride.

By all means, go on believing the NRAs lies.

You know, I wouldn't care except you fools are dragging the rest of us down with you.

Dave

Comparing apples to apples (i.e., comparing First World industrialized democracies, our murder rates are at least 3 times as high (about the same difference in gun ownership, BTW).
