Remember the movie Blood Diamonds? This guy was the one responsible and is unlikely to see any freedom for the rest of his days. A win for the Blue helmets is how I would characterize this news.

A little perspective is perhaps necessary. This is the first former head of state to be convicted by an international court for war crimes since the Nuremberg trials of Nazi leaders that followed World War II. That said, good for them for securing the conviction.

Now that they're feeling their oats, I wonder if Dubya or Cheney is next.

Tis true but even the attention of the World Court is enough to rein in some of the shenanigans by the countries without a seat in the Security Council.
