We were grossly over consuming thanks to China and now we will begin to under consume to level out cost of inflation. For example, do we really need a new iPhone every year or two?

Let's not go blaming China for America's consumerism. All they are doing is meeting a demand created by the American advertising industry and paid for by American Capitalism.

Yes and yes, but the fact remains that their economic structure being what it is, they undercut US manufacturing and a lot of manufacturing either went overseas or went under. And how about the blatant theft of intellectual property? To begin with we should restrict admissions in state universities to students from China.
