In California they succeeded in portraying GMO labeling as an elitist movement fostered by Whole Foods and the organic farmers. It's time for the FDA to flex their muscles, flaccid though they be from decades of deregulation and defunding courtesy of the Republican't Party.

I think that perhaps the FDA is flexing their muscles it favor of one of the biggest political contributors around...Monsanto.
Now understand, I'm just shooting form the hip. I haven't taken the time to research this particular subject.
But I do know how money works, and I wouldn't be so quick as to blame it all on the Republicans.

Still pullin' drive bys, eh Chas? If you haven't noticed, it's the Gopers mantra of deregulation and starving the government till they can drown it in the toilet that has made most regulatory activities nigh near to impossible.

You're shitting me, right???
Has it never occurred to you that the likes of Monsanto can use their influence to assure that government regulations work for their benefit?

Here ya go, http://www.opensecrets.org/usearch/?...utt_clean.y=52
I did see some Democrats like Marion Barry on that list but the overwhelming majority are Gopers getting money from Monsanto. I shit you not.

Oh, absolutely. And, that's why Putins comments were directed squarely at our government. The foreigners know what's up. They know our dogs are only running amuck in the global neighborhood because we do damn little to control them.
My question, however, is: How is supporting the party that advocates even LESS control of our corporate jackass behavior supposed to address any of that?
That's the part that I have as yet to figure out.

That's something I have been noodling on the past few weeks.
The best answer I can come up with is that letting money concentrate into the hands of a few gives them more control. That theory makes sense so long as the moneyed interests are good. Like Canadians.

As far as I am concerned those bastards at Monsanto have a special corner of hell reserved for them and I hope they rot in it.
