This is a demonstration of White Power at it's best, keep your masses ignorant.
All it takes it to lookup Black Power in Swahili, it's 'nguvu nyeusi'.

Here Sarah Palin refers to "Denali, The Great One" in her farewell address as Governor in 2009. Who knew she was in on the Black Power Conspiracy?

(It really doesn't matter how silly Big Lies are, of course. Those who see through them mostly don't care, and those who do care don't matter.)

This is interesting.

The Mountain is in Alaska.

And Alaskans call it Denali.

So why aren't the right wingers all in favor of this?

Seems like it's a "States Rights" issue.

Quote:
In the indigenous Athabaskan language of western North America, however, “Denali” does have a meaning. Alaskans have been using the word “Denali,” which means “the great one,” as a name for Mount McKinley for centuries. The state of Alaska has also been officially using the name Denali for Mount McKinley since 1975:

Interior Secretary Sally Jewell said the change recognizes that Denali is sacred to many Alaskans.

“The name Denali has been official for use by the State of Alaska since 1975, but even more importantly, the mountain has been known as Denali for generations,” said Jewell, who is responsible for the Board on Geographic Names, the federal body in charge of place names.

“With our own sense of reverence for this place, we are officially renaming the mountain Denali in recognition of the traditions of Alaska Natives and the strong support of the people of Alaska,” she said.

Alaska first formally requested the change when it recognized Denali itself in 1975. Denali means “the great one” in the local Athabaskan language.

Low Information Voter bait, which is not surprising since 48% of Republicans think Obama is Muslim.

To be fair, I don't know if this originates with an actual right wing propaganda bureau. It's possible that this comes from a freelancer, perhaps in a spirit of parody of the right wing noise machine's output.

But there's been so much stroking of racist sentiment from the right that it's not safe to assume that even as silly an item as this was not 'serious.'

Exactly. We dismiss this sort of stuff at our peril, just as dismissing Trump's birtherism and overt racism as "humorous quips" is a big mistake.
