For the party and its flag bearers it more than a distraction especially more states will disqualify Trump thus threatening his legitimacy as a candidate for the independent voters.

For the MAGA sheeple, one new grievance and another opportunity to shower their chieftain with $5 and $10 bills.

I am somewhat taken aback from this comment by Bill Barr, the previous AG.

“I strongly oppose Donald Trump for the Republican nomination, but I think that this case is legally wrong and untenable,” Barr said in a CNN interview. “And I think this kind of action of stretching the law, taking these hyper-aggressive positions to try to knock Trump out of the race are counterproductive. They backfire.”

Why is it legally wrong? Its their interpretation of the 14th Amendment which everyone agrees is quite confusing. By not acting on it, they would have in effect condoned Trump's insurrection.

Also the Colorado Repb party already said they will just switch from a primary to a caucus format (no ballots required) so Trump can participate.

The Orange Menace can sure dish it out but cannot take it on his chin.
