Had a lengthy catch-up phone chat with an old friend that traffics in wingnut conspiracy theories that reminded me how much and how successful the long running disinformation campaigns by these and others have been finding roots and results.
Controlling the the narrative trumps fact and truth, and sunlight doesn't seem to disinfect the odious result.
