Why is US broadband so expensive

Compare to other developed nations the US broadband is expensive.

Consider too that most of the other nations have government owned telecom companies. Here we have privately owned telecom wannaabeees

I thought we here in the Big Apple would be paying the highest.

Of course the fact that so many of these countries are no bigger tha one or two States might have summat to do with it. Allocation of the bandwith? There is only so much between DC and green light.
