Yochai Benkler, a Harvard Law School professor who co-directs the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, says, “Fox’s most important role since the election has been to keep Trump supporters in line.” The network has provided a non-stop counternarrative in which the only collusion is between Hillary Clinton and Russia; Robert Mueller, the special counsel, is perpetrating a “coup” by the “deep state”; Trump and his associates aren’t corrupt, but America’s law-enforcement officials and courts are; illegal immigration isn’t at a fifteen-year low, it’s “an invasion”; and news organizations that offer different perspectives are “enemies of the American people.”

the writer is frustrated that Faux has held its own against a narrative largely derived from a fake dossier.

Bullshit. The dossier was not used to secure convictions against Flynn, Manafort, Cohen, and Gates nor was it the singular exhibit in obtaining FISA warrants against Trump's traitorous minions.

Partially unsubstantiated does not equate to "fake". It is what it is.

The convictions are not in line with the narrative. They are for the most part to create noise for the public and to produce pressure on those indicted to compose a collusion. Any special prosecutor worth his salt can get a person like Manafort, with his long history of nefarious dealings, on whatever charge.

To any objective observer, up to now the collusion objective has largely failed. Be not surprised if flailing Democrats turn on Mueller.

The dossier was used to create a narrative. What is significant to me was that the BBC would not support it...even though it was concocted by a Brit.

The dossier was raw, unconfirmed intelligence from a known, experienced and reliable intelligence professional and nobody in law enforcement has sold it as anything other than that. Whether or not it's proven to be completely true, partially true or totally false matters little at this point. Trump has already been implicated in multiple felonies as has nearly everyone around him and there's lots more trouble ahead for the Trump crime family. Stay tuned.

You want flailing, run all two hours of Trump's weekend speech, if you can stand it.
