Taken by force? Nobody holds a gun to anyone's head and force them to join a union. Unless you think that taking a better paying job with union membership is coercion. Everybody has an inalienable right to be a scab but don't expect an invitation to sit at my dinner table if you choose the scab route.

It's wacked how union dues are considered to be coercion. Not to mention political contributions made by the union. The union leaders are elected by their brothers and sisters. If they go against the will of the membership they get replaced via the ballotbox, why is this simple fact so hard to understand?

It's just pure democracy and what's wrong with that?

Exactly right. Even in a non-Right to Work State, no one is stopping you from just going out and getting a non-union job or starting your own biz. Funny, how an employer can set conditions of employment and tell you to "Take it, or leave it." But, if union membership is set as a condition of employment, your rights have been been violated.

You have any articles or info on that, Rob. I'd really like to read up on it.

This was one but a search on "shareholder vote political donations" brings up loads;

It was also at the recent Wally World meeting that I recall it being in the news.
