Some people just don't get that "freedom for all" sometimes means you have to put up with seeing and hearing things you don't care for.
Political correctness of the left---Political correctness of the right---Same animal in a different coat.

D, I agree that Ayers isn't the direct issue with OWS going off the rails. I just question his usefulness and even his place in the school system. His kind of teaching leads to the violence we're seeing. Long and short, I believe he's a moron, however insiduously.
He's not even as smart as Fritz the Cat.
Blue, as the late great Royko would say, you don't need a amendment when a punch in the nose works just fine

Flay - flaw
Where does it end.

First...my bona fides: I'm so liberal I make Barry Obama look like Barry Goldwater. There.
Regarding communism: Other than North Korea, and to a somewhat lesser extent, Cuba...communism is dead. Buried. A footnote to history. Typical rightwing tactic to immediately brand anyone they disagree with as a "communist" or "socialist" or "Marxist". The majority of people flinging these pejoratives around wouldn't know a Marxist, socialist or communist if one rose up and bit them in the ass. But, it's convenient "code" to marginalize the opposition and play directly to the unfounded fears of the less-knowledgeable. Karl Rove LOVES that kind of thing. Same for Newt. And, Mitt isn't far behind. "Organizing" has nearly become some sort of obscenity...never mind that organizing is exactly what the teabaggers did.
OWS is/was a direct expression of the frustration that average Americans feel when confronted by the corporatcy/oligarchy that has insinuated its tentacles throughout our nation. No one wanted a handout...just a fair shake. College grads find that, after graduation, what they worked hard for four or more years to obtain is now essentially worthless. But...they are still saddled with onerous debt incurred to gain their now-worthless degree. They don't want their loans wiped out...just a more equitable repayment arrangement. Most participants in OWS and similar protests are plain sick & tired of corporations like Big Oil, Big Banking, Big Pharma and all the rest essentially calling the shots for our government and would like them to just butt out. It's too bad OWS isn't better organized...the population would take them more seriously and maybe, maybe start to examine where they themselves fit in to the greater scheme of things.
Hopefully, OWS will find a new dedication and a sense of organization...because their alternative viewpoint is something desperately needed these days.
