So much for Mission Accomplished and the Green Zone. These are Sadr militants protesting the corruption of the US backed government and looks like Iraq will be splitting two states soon. Just don't see how the Shia/Sunni power sharing can work anymore. Worse yet, Iraq could turn into another Lebanon.

I am pretty confident Baghdad and Southern Iraq will remain Shia to one degree or another. Anbar Province and the rest of the country will remain a basket case.

It is obvious that Iraqi Shia and Sunni will probably not cooperate in running a national government. We should let the Sunnis kick out ISIS and let them run the non-Kurd areas of northern Iraq. Mosul or Ramadi could be their seat of power.

But of course that wouldn't work and then another strongman would come along and bring about "peace" through brute terror, sort of like Saddam.....

It occurs to me that republicans seem to view black, Mexican, LGBT, Muslims and poor people in the same light as Nazi Germans once viewed Jewish people. We must be vigilant that it goes no further.

Well said, that's the harsh reality. Let's be heartened that Egypt had the good sense to go back to dictatorship and hope the rest follow.
