It's bullshit rightwing propaganda.

They get paid way more than minimum wage, have subsidized housing, full medical provided for them, and have a pension available to them with medical for life after only 20 years on the job. Our troops are very well compensated. No, I am not saying they aren't worth it, quite the contrary.

It's just another example of how the rightwing uses "the troops" as a political tool. I just wish more military folks realized that this is what goes on. But, try explaining it to them and watch what happens. We are all brainwashed in bootcamp, some of us figure it out and shed it later on. Some never do. I'm sure Robbin knows what I'm talking about. At least I hope he does.....................

Or whether it's "immoral", "fair" or "polite" to fight their employers. The more we try to rely on low wage industries for our employment base, the more problems there will be.

That picture is so wrong in many aspects....it is meant just to inflame emotions period. Most active military know how hard it is in the civilian world right now.

Yeah 25 years ago civilians did make more than your average enlisted member.
That is not true today. Most military members probably favor an increase in the minimum wage. They do not want to be working for minimum wage either when they get out. It is not as easy to stay in and retire like in the old days.

I'm too new here to have a sense of who's done time in the military and who hasn't...so speaking for myself, as somebody who has...I find the fucking thing offensive in any number of ways.

I'll tell y'all something else too...I suspect if the two guys in the picture ran into whoever put this piece of right wing trash together they would have handed him his ass on a plate. I would. I didn't serve for some partisan schmuck to use me for his goddamn political propaganda. It's a particular reason why I find chickenhawk assholes like Saxby Chambliss so nauseating.
