And although our household income is about 300% of the poverty level and under 400% are supposed to be eligible for a subsidy, due to the convoluted way the damned act is written I can't get shit.

So, here I am, still forking out better than 20% of my income for health Insurance, and fortunate to be able to do that by staying on the plan I had when I was working, except that now I have to pay the full nut for it.

We're paying about 15% of our (pre-tax) income for insurance. That affords me one well visit per year and meds. I could pay those myself out of pocket for about 1/10th of my premium, and I could easily pay to see the doctor more than once a year were it not for the cost of the insurance premium. So basically the mandate takes away my ability to see a doctor.

Did you see that family coverage is now about $18,500 a year?

It was "only" $13,000 a year early in Obama's term. We got scewed..... which is why the established politico needs to go. We're always getting screwed.

I think what's happening with this Obamacare is that relatively healthy people are looking at those big co-pays and deductibles and saying "Fuck it, I'll just pay the penalty instead." So the only people signing up ate those with serious conditions that are running up mega bucks in medical expenses. So the health Insurance companies, in spite of their expensive premiums with big co-pays and deductibles, are still not making out like the bandits they had hoped to be. That's why they are dropping out of the exchanges.

Obummer care?

A Program where the government subsidizes the Insurance companies to sell overpriced policies.

I voted for him twice and I gotta admit, I was duped.

not duped.... Obie is a philosopher and diplomat... not a leader or legilator

we hoped for better, we were not dupped

would you vote for Palin if you had it to do over?

Not me.

He did less harm than Bush or Ronnie ray-Gun.

Keep it in perspective.

We hoped for too much.

Not being denied coverage for a pre-existing condition is nothing to sneeze at.
