Satellites detect California cow burps, a major methane source, from space

Article: Satellites detect California cow burps, a major methane source, from space

What's kinda funny about this is that they seem to think this is some sort of a problem, even though it is estimated that over 30 million buffalo roamed the plains before the evil white devils wiped them out. So, apparently buffalo don't burp.

Gas emissions from animals do not contain methane until food is digested.

People light their 'farts' as a party gag. I've seen it done. It's the methane that burns. Burps aren't flammable.

The whole article is wrong. Perhaps satellites can detect methane, but it coming from the other end of the cattle.

Actually, cow digestion is rather different than human. People can't live on grass. It's the burps more than the farts. But then there's the manure lagoons....

I stand corrected once again.

A cow's stomach is compartmentalized in four sections. The front section, called the rumen, does generate methane.
