I read the book a long time ago. I'll be anxious to see the series.

SyFy does a good job with production values (Gallactica was amazing) so I'm looking forward to this.

It's been a long, long time for me too.

I read Childhood's End way back in the 70s...

Always did like Arthur C. Clarke...Rendezvous With Rama is great, and I really liked The Fountains of Paradise. I think I read Songs of Distant Earth also. I found reading 2001: A Space Odyssey much more enjoyable than the film.

Black Death: SEAN BEAN, EDDIE REDMAYNE

If your village is untouched then look for a visit from the fundamentalist knight in search of the necromancer...it is a time for burning witches.

'Cold Mountain' Renee is great in this flick.

Is every damn movie a remake of The Iliad and the Odyssey?

The book is way better than the film in this instance. I thought Nicole Kidman was miscast in this role. Too pretty and refined for a Smoky Mountain country gal.

Aren't they all? I'll have to read the book one day. A transplanted Charleston gal in the movie.
They spared no expense on the cast.
