OK. I did some research on my own and you were correct. There was widespread support on this forum for a recess appointment.

My bad.

What did happen however is that after Obummer wussed out on that I took him to task and several members came out in support of him with statements like "he may be playing the long game", "It was very spock-like of Obama", and "Obama is playing chess and the Republicans are playing checkers", etc.
