I keep CNBC on at work from time to time. There's little question they lean pretty far to the right. But Friday that nut case Kramer, or Cramer or however he spells it was on yelling about something. Even *he* said that we had too little regulation and that it was probably time for some more. Of course he then said "I just don't agree about how he's going about it" referring to the bank regulation. Sounds a lot like "we all agree something needs to be done", but all the same, here's a conservative who knows a thing or two about our financial system saying that we need more regulation. He went as far as to say the lack of regulation or enforcement of regulation got us in the mess we're in.

I'll restate the point I've made earlier- I believe many Republicans have stopped actually considering how systems work and simply want lower taxes, smaller government and less regulation. Even though we have lower taxes, smaller government and less regulation. When asked how low, how small and how much less they have no answer. It's a cry no longer based on observing the system and making a recommendation as to what they believe will make things better. It's just something to yell.

I should add, the ultimate expression of smaller government is anarchy. I believe there are Republicans who will yell for smaller government until we are at that point. It's looking more and more like we're in the neighborhood every day.

I can't imagine any of the bigwigs at the banks or on Wall Street are Democrats. Can you?

I can't imagine a democrat running any business that is profitable.

I'm not sure that's getting us anywhere. But, if you're interested in profitable companies that are run by Democrats, you can read about these guys:

For the record, broadcast companies are still enormously profitable. Are you saying the Media is run by Republicans?

Doesn't matter, more divisive talk. We'd do better if we'd work together on issues instead of making wild accusations about the other side all the time.

Take care,

Ed

I have found the opposite in life. The republican folks I have know always have one answer to increasing profits when their management decisions have failed to turn adequate profit. They cannibalize. They fire you and reduce my benefits.
When this is philosophically a less desirable avenue to increased profits folks generally put on the old thinking cap and come up with "marketplace" moves to increase profits.

And, of course, George Soros. He must have become, according to Conservapedia, "one of the richest people in the world" by saving pennies from his welfare checks.

He said running a company to gain wealth, not stealing it.
