And why is he unemployed? Because the Republicans screwed up big time, or do you have proof that all those masters of the universe were Democrats? Of course unemployment will not come down until after November because the people doing the hiring are Republicans and the want to keep everybody mad. Apart from the police, teachers and construction workers that kept their jobs because of the govermant funding.

Here is some simple math about Dubya's big tax cut for the middle class. Before I retired here, between my Bell Canada pension and my salary and the SS they forced me to take after 65 I was well into six figures. We were paid bi-monthly and that big tax cut bought me a pack of Marlboros every payday. Golly George thank you so effing much.

Good point, I have one next door, but I think he's finally starting to smell the coffee. Being a Union member "and" a Republican gets me a ton of heat from coworkers. I don't hide my political views and even wear my McCain Palin shirt to work. It's almost come to blows a couple times, but I have two apprentices that are Republicans too. One is an ex Army Ranger, and the other stands 6 foot 4 and ways over 300 pounds. I wish I could post up our Union newspapers from last year compared to two years ago. Two years ago it was work everywhere, and we had to import fitters from other places. Now we are doing good to get 3 or 4 days a week, but we still need to worship any politician with a "D" behind their name.. And what about not taxing Union Cadillac plans, but taxing everyone else's? Does this seem fair to anyone? I'd like to hear one "decent" reason why I should not be taxed while my neighbor would be, just because I'm Union. Of course most Union guys will say that's great, but it sure isn't fair what they gave to Nebraska.

The Dems are about out of pages, what are they going to hang their hat on
now? The only jobs Obama's going to create are regulatory jobs to regulate
regulations? Geez

Well without some sort of regulations these morons will kick the patches off the ship and sink us all over again.

"You are overpaid and underworked, I'm sure we can find someone who will do the job for half as much and do it just as well, if not better." What you apparently don't see, is that that time just hasn't come for you -----yet. You've been lucky and nothing else. This is why your fellow employees are mad at you. Funny how someone who is so smart.........Well, you can figure out the rest.

Amen. If they win the majority again, at first you will see some pick-up. But, in time we will be right back in the same boat.

"Worshipping" politicians seems to be more of a Republican trait, these days. We've even heard a popular GOP pundit, and (admittedly) former GOP poiticains claiming that to oppose their party is to oppose God himself.

So, your Union manages to dodge a bullet for you, and you turn around and support the people who would make your union a thing of the past if they get half a chance? All that tells me is that if people want their benefits protected, more of them should unionize. But they won't, because they HATE unions. And why do you think that is, TD? Hmmmmmm? Ever listen to Limbaugh, Boortz, Hannity, or any of those people? Someone once told me, "The union doesn't shut the plant down. Only the company can make that decision. But, when they do, it will be the unions fault. Everytime. Regardless of what the facts are."

That's right. And what makes anyone thinks the GOP is going to do anything at all. Anything that really makes a difference that is. See, I'm not defending the current bill. I hate that piece of crap. The Dems have made a hash of something that could have been good. So people turn back to the Republicans and say, "Okay, let's see what these guys have to offer." Anyone with an IQ higher than fifty already knows the answer. There might be a few token, and loosley enforced half-measures and then the healthcare situation will resume it's usual course. THE REPUBLICANS ARE NOT GOING TO REGULATE THEMSELVES. I can't imagine any of the bigwigs at the banks or on Wall Street are Democrats. Can you?
