Here is a piece from an ex-FBI agent.
Devin Nunes tried to discredit the FBI. Instead, he proved it’s onto something
Quote:
Even worse for Nunes, he managed to showcase concrete proof that the FBI was looking into Trump’s Russian connections before they heard from Steele. The memo confirms that Australian intelligence was aware of possible ties between George Papadopoulos, another Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, and Russian intelligence, and that the Australians were alarmed enough to alert the FBI, which opened an investigation in July 2016.
|
Quote:
Whether there was ultimately any collusion between Russia and individual members of the Trump campaign, there can be no doubt after the memo that the government had good reason to investigate Russian attempts to place and recruit assets there. Any American who cares about protecting our elections and democratic processes from foreign interference should want no stone uncovered in exposing how successful Russia was in its efforts. Nunes may have thought he was proving the FBI was out to get Trump. Instead, he proved the FBI was right to worry.
|
Once again Nunes has proven that he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. What a turd and hope he gets dumped in November.

'Thoughts on the Nunes Memo: We Need to Talk About Devin'
"After more than two weeks of mounting anticipation and hype, the memo on alleged surveillance abuses prepared by Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, has finally been #released. So does the memo document surveillance abuses “worse than Watergate,” as Rep. Steve King tweeted last month? Or is it nothing more than disingenuous spin, as House intelligence committee Vice Chairman Adam Schiff argues—“a burn-the-house down strategy to protect the president”?
Former FBI director James Comey came down strongly on Schiff’s side Friday afternoon—suggesting as well that the memo didn’t pack much of a punch:
James Comey
Verified account
That’s it? Dishonest and misleading memo wrecked the House intel committee, destroyed trust with Intelligence Community, damaged relationship with FISA court, and inexcusably exposed classified investigation of an American citizen. For what? DOJ & FBI must keep doing their jobs.

Will the rebuttal Memo written by the Democrats be released? Or released without delays, redaction and distraction? Tough call to make now, the GOP could just be blowing smoke over the weekend to look like they are playing nice.
The Dems could use this as a bargaining chip for the inevitable CR coming up this Thursday, or even push for a law to protect Mueller from the executive. One can oply hope that the Shulosi brain trust is up to the task. Forget pushing DACA for now, you have the Hispanic vote locked up, turning out the voters is your challenge.

The liar-in-chief, possibly the greatest liar of all time, is calling Rep Adam Schiff a liar. Laughable. Schiff comes across as one of the few in Congress who is beyond reproach. Does anyone seriously believe Donny will allow Schiff’s facts-based memo, which exposes Nunes as a liar and Donny lapdog, to be released without extreme redaction?

No. Lying Donnie Dotard's latest tweet sets the stage for not releasing the Dem's memo:
@realDonaldTrump
Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!
And Schiff's response:
@RepAdamSchiff
Mr. President, I see you’ve had a busy morning of “Executive Time.” Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would appreciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or...really anything else.

The GOP House may be willing to release the Dem Memo to save face, which is why it makes a good bargaining chip for the CR5. Knowing Shulosi, they may take up Global Warming instead.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Representative Devin Nunes, a man of tremendous courage and grit, may someday be recognized as a Great American Hero for what he has exposed and what he has had to endure!

He actually belongs behind bars, with you and your entire crime family, Donny. Only dunces like Whell will take this BS seriously.

Here's a worthy read. It provides the six most ridiculous claims that Republicans have made concerning the memo.
