No, I don't think so. I think it looks more like this, and the states are very concerned about getting stuck with that much financial liability.

They already are. Most docs are affiliating with major hospitals for two reasons:

- one, to leverage the hospital's bargaining power
- because services performed within a hospital setting are reimbursed at a higher rate by Medicare

They might as well do it now, though. Once they go single payer, their bargaining power will go to zero.

Whell your eyes must be brown, SinglePayer works and works damn well. Of course in this nation of middlemen they could conceivably screw up the Lord's Prayer.
