I suppose I should bring us down to earth by pointing out that we have a small sample size. When it is something that only occurs once every four years, it's hard to find statistically significant trends.

More like Reagan/Carter

Lets see where the polls are at one week or even days before the election.

But how far down is "this far"? the polls are ranging now between the President +7 and Romney +1 I think. What number did TYT use?

Problem is that you don't have a candidate anything like Reagan. I think that you were being at least partly facetious, but it's pretty clear that any electoral victory by Romney would be very narrow. Moreover, the problems with the economy don't compare. While we don't have the level of growth we hope for, we don't have stagflation. And Obama is far from being a captive in the White House. So you have an incumbent who is a much better candidate than Carter (although I believe that Carter was one of the most decent human beings to occupy the White House), and a challenger who might have less charisma than Al Gore.

In other words, in your dreams, buddy.

D-Ray

They showed four different polls including Rasmussen who strangely had them even. I'll see if I can find a credible source other than TYT for that historical data, after my daily walk with Patty.

It is real simple. Romney screwed up big time with the 47% comment, not to mention his thoughts on the Mideast which is diametrically opposed to what he says from the stump.

Ryan also has a problem with his video tape speaking at the Atlas Society. His psycho babble is unbelievable.

Ayn Rand novels are good at getting the angst up in high school students, but most grow out of it as they get older. Ryan never did and it shaped his budget plan that will hurt and even kill the poor, disabled, and the elderly.

All Obama has to do is saturate the swing states with ads pertaining to the two speeches and people will see the true nature of the Ryan/ Romney...oops, the Romney/Ryan team.

The only way Republicans can win is if they cheat. They have already shown that they are pretty good at it.

Exit polling has been almost 100% accurate at declaring winners in elections all over the world. In 2000 and 2004 Exit polling was wildly wrong declaring both Gore and Kerry winners. What has worked for decades suddenly failed for no reason.

This is why your joke above is so freakin' hilarious.

I'm not blaming you, Pete. I blame the Republican and Tea Party politicians who constantly denigrate and demonize anyone who depends on government programs. It's immoral, it's obscene and it results in behavior like this from people who have bought into the 47% lie.
